QUESTION ONE
How do you describe your artistic style/perspective? How do you define success as an artist? What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What are some of the most important skills you draw upon to create your work? What are some of the most significant things you've learned through art-making? DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
My artistic style/perspective is from what I see. I use a variety of vibrant colors to create what I see. When I made each of my pieces I used a few of my own pictures or things I have seen. I would describe my success as an artist by showing my pieces originality. For example, my Colosseum print was my own picture and then I used colors that would pop and didn't look like every other art piece of the Colosseum. The most rewarding part of being an artist is the hard work taken to make your piece and then seeing how the hard work paid off to be better than I originally thought. One of the most important skills I draw upon is attention to detail. Attention to detail brings out color and accuracy of each of my pieces to make them look better. One of the most important things I learned was that color matters. The more variety of colors I use in my pieces the more vibrant and accurate they look, it makes them a lot more pleasing to look at. I also learned how to scale my pieces better and make them flow.

QUESTION two
Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter. DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
My prisma colored pencil drawing and my clay food pieces show my growth as an artist. For my prisma color, I drew a bunch of grapefruit clustered together. Each of my grapefruits were very detailed and colorful. I put a lot of different colors that would bring out the other colors of the grapefruit like yellow and purple. I used my space really well, grapefruits go from one side to the other of the paper. The way I used my colors added a lot of texture to make the fruit look more realistic. My artistic vision for this piece was to make them look realistic, and I accomplished that, I feel that my piece was very creative and looked good. The other piece I chose was my clay food. My bacon was very textured and my eggs were very smooth. I made sure my lines were straight and accurate. I also made sure that the size of each piece of food was accurate. I had worked with clay in past years but I feel that my creativity and use of the elements was much improved from years past.

question three
What medium was your favorite to work with? Explain why and how you were able to master the techniques associated with this medium. DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
My favorite medium to work with was the Prismacolor pencils. I enjoyed using the prismacolor pencils because they were very smooth and easy to work with. If you look at my pumpkin drawing, you can see how I used lots of different colors to achieve different shadows and highlights. I was able to master the techniques by playing with the different colors and when I used brighter more vibrant colors the more appealing the piece was. I had to pay attention to the shadows and highlights and I used darker shades of each color or other colors that were darker to make it look real. I used value to make sure the creases were dark and I exaggerated my colors to make it look less dull. If you look at my pumpkin you can see that the green and brown is reflected onto the pumpkin which was easy to do with the colored pencils. I really liked how all of my prismacolor pencil drawings turned out.

Question four
Discuss one project where you felt you were the least successful. Explain why you felt this way. What would you do differently to change this piece? Explain . DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
I felt that I was least successful with my pen and ink drawing. With the pen and ink drawing you could not make any mistakes and you had to be very precise with your lines. It was hard for me to create depth with the one color. I also got more impatient when I had to make tiny marks. You can also see each one of my mistakes because you cannot cover it up which took away from the overall piece. My lines were not straight so I wish I was more careful. I also would have made darker lines, looking back at it there is a lot of empty space. Also, the ocean is a large part of the piece and I did not spend as much effort on it as I should have. I like if I did this assignment toward the end of the semester I would have been more successful in planning and the overall outcome would have been better
